Skills Funding Agency
SFA is an agency of the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills. Its job is to fund and regulate adult further education and skills training in England. Its mission is to ensure that people and businesses can access the skills training they need to succeed in playing their part in society and in growing England’s economy.
European Social Fund
The European Social Fund (ESF) is the European Union’s main initiative for investing in jobs and skills. The ESF was setup to improve employment opportunities in the European Union and help raise standards of living, help people to get better skills and better job prospects and to help equip the workforce with the skills needed by business in a competitive global economy. Priority groups for support include young people not in education, employment or training plus families with multiple problems, offenders and people with levels.
