The Diploma allows learners to undertake study related to computing. Many learners join these types of degrees after following A level study, so the Diploma will place the Access to HE learners on a level with those who have followed A level studies.
Funding Available: 19+ Advanced Learner Loan
19+ Advanced Learner Loan: If you are aged over 23, or you are 19-23 with a full Level 3 qualification, you can fund the course with the Advanced Learner Loan supplied by Student Finance England. This loan will be wiped from your records if you progress to university and complete your studies! If you do not progress to university or a higher education course, you will not need to start paying back the loan until you earn over £25,725.

L3 Access to HE Diploma (Computing)
The Diploma allows learners to undertake study related to computing. Learners will have the opportunity to develop skills which will enable progression to a range of degree-level programmes within the sector.
Many learners join these types of degrees after following A level study, so the Diploma will place the Access to HE learners on a level with those who have followed A level studies.
There is no requirement for learners to have achieved prior qualifications or units, skills, knowledge or understanding prior to undertaking this qualification. However, having GCSEs is a mark of ability at Level 2 and therefore, demonstrate skills and ability to study at Level 3.

Course Fee:
There are two options available for funding:
- Through Advanced Learner Loan. Start paying back the loan until you earn over £25,725 a year
- Self–funding – you can fund for the course yourself or you could approach your employer for funding if you are already working in the sector. Learners often combine working with the course too.
- If you will be self-funding, the course fee may be reduced and you will be able to pay in installments. Please speak to our advisers for more details.
- If you study an Access to HE course and progress directly to the university,the Advanced Learner Loan will be written off when you complete your degree.
